KOllision

March 9th 2019

EFE [Eff-ee]:

A community of next generation student designers dedicated to inspire others to rethink textile waste through charity fashion shows and events.

As collaborators, EFE’s role is to spearhead operations leading up to and on show-day, manage the charity silent auction, coordinate volunteers and inspire sustainable practices for the pieces and the event.

KOllision [ koh-lizh-uhn ]:

A collaboration between fashion, technology and art, by NYC fashion designer, Minika Ko. By sponsoring high-performance womenswear, Minika challenged 30+ artists and designers to use her pieces as canvases while challenging their preconceptions of fashion.

On March 9th 2019, EFE produced KOllision alongside 30+ artists and designers, 50+ models, and 500+ attendees.

KOllision is where fashion, technology, and art collide. Artists from all over NYC and across the United States combined various methods of painting, embroidery and technology to be ultimately showcased as one collaborative fashion show.

In celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, KOllision artists manifests the future of female power with wearable arts on the runway. All the designs shown on the runway go towards Stand for Education in a live silent charity auction.

Coordinating Volunteers

Melissa Lent, one of EFE’s team members, was the head of coordinating volunteers for the pre-show, during show, and post-show set up.

Silent Charity Auction

All proceeds from the silent auction went towards Stand For Education — our goal was to provide 1000 girls in South Sudan with menstrual hygiene kits that contain sustainable and reusable menstrual hygiene products and pads that last them 1-3 years. One $25 donation allows a girl to stay in school, complete an education, and secure a better future for themselves.

The EFE Team

The EFE X KOllision collaboration wouldn’t have been possible without all of EFE team members, Minika Ko and her team, COPE NYC, Stand For Education NGO, all our sponsors, volunteers, artists & designers, make-up artists and the audience who came out to witness this collaboration on March 9th, 2019. Thank you Minika for this amazing opportunity!
